📜 Origin & History

RAL 2007 Luminous Bright Orange is a high-lightness variant within the fluorescent orange series. It adjusts the wavelength distribution based on 2005, weakening the red component and increasing the yellow-orange light ratio to achieve the ultimate brightness under daylight.

The research background of this color number is closely linked to maritime safety. After testing hundreds of orange coatings, the International Maritime Organization determined that this type of Luminous Bright Orange offered the best visibility for search and rescue personnel in foggy and rainy sea conditions, subsequently incorporating it into the recommended color library of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).

At the end of the 20th century, Luminous Bright Orange entered the aviation field. The 'black box' (flight recorder) on aircraft is actually painted this color, not black, so it can be quickly located in wreckage after a crash. This color detail, repeatedly emphasized in documentaries, has become a well-known piece of trivia.

After the rise of urban bike-sharing and electric scooters, multiple operators chose Luminous Bright Orange as the main body color. It ensures high visibility for the vehicles within the streetscape, while simultaneously conveying a brand tone of youthfulness, convenience, and vitality.

In the field of contemporary art, Luminous Bright Orange is used as a signature color for urban intervention art. Artists employ this color for temporary installations in public spaces, disrupting the daily gray rhythm of the city with an extremely high visual presence to spark public dialogue.
