📜 Origin & History

RAL 5021 Water Blue reproduces the distinctive color of the Baltic Sea and glacial meltwater lakes. In fjords and tarns shaped by Quaternary glaciation, suspended fine mineral particles absorb longer wavelengths, reflecting only this slightly greenish water blue into the eye.

In the late 19th to early 20th century, sanatorium medicine emerged in Europe. Swiss and German tuberculosis sanatoriums used water blue for solariums and bed linens—doctors believed this cooling blue-green helped reduce fever and cough, an early clinical application of color therapy.

During the Bauhaus movement, water blue was incorporated into modern architectural color composition. To break the coldness of white walls, masters like Gropius and Meyer laid water-blue tiles in worker housing and public baths, turning bathhouses into social vessels of utopian imagination.

Contemporary smart homes designate water blue as the default color for wake-up lights and meditation modes. Tech brands believe that the glacier-lake water-blue light slowly brightening at dawn best simulates the circadian rhythm of natural awakening, ushering in a stress-free new day.

🧠 Color Psychology

CrispLike alpine meltwater tarns—the extremely low temperature washing away turbidity, leaving only a wakeful breath of pure oxygen.
StillAs smooth as a rippleless lake—all mental wrinkles pressed flat by this cool blue-green, entering absolute calm hibernation.
MetabolicAccelerating the clearance of accumulated psychological toxins and fatigue—promoting emotional system metabolism like lymphatic massage.
InsightfulLike observing fish through crystalline water—it strips away confusing interference, exposing truth without reservation.
Slightly BrackishCarrying the distinctive taste of Baltic brackish water—representing the middle-ground wisdom of being neither purely lake nor purely sea.
RevivingThe first melting ice color after hibernation—宣告 the end of long nights and frozen ground, stirring the desire to root and sprout anew.
